• Southmoreland Elementary School (SES) is located at 100 Scottie Way, sharing the Scottdale campus with Southmoreland Middle School.

    Southmoreland Elementary School has a dedicated team of teachers and staff who work closely with students, parents, and the community to create a positive learning environment. There are 6 general education teachers assigned to each grade level. There are 5 special education teachers, including one Autistic Support and one Life Skills Support teacher. In addition, there are 6 itinerant teachers, 2 interventionists, and one Title I teacher. Students also receive support from our paraprofessionals, personal care assistants, speech language pathologist, and school counselor. The staff at SES provides support and guidance to students, monitors their progress, and communicates with parents or guardians about their child's academic and social development. Collaboration between teachers, parents, and the school administration is essential in ensuring the success of students.

    Southmoreland Elementary School plays a vital role in each of our student's educational journeys in grades 2 through 5, providing them with foundational knowledge and skills in various subjects, including language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. SES offers a diverse curriculum that focuses on developing students' academic abilities, fostering social skills, and promoting personal growth. In addition to core subjects, SES offers classes in art, music, physical education, computer, STEM, and library. SES also prioritizes the development of important life skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration.
