The Southmoreland School District has begun and will continue to enact state mandated safety drills in all school buildings. A drill is scheduled at the Primary Center on Thursday, October 24 and at the Middle and Elementary Schools on Friday, October 25. These drills will continue throughout the school year. Some of which will not be announced.
The purpose of these drills is not to install or create fear. The intent is to educate administrators, staff, and students of necessary, potentially life saving, strategies in the event of a school emergency.
As always, our goal is to ensure the safety and well being of everyone in our district buildings.
